Reconstruction of a Social Care Facility Building

In 2011–2012, a building reconstruction project was designed and implemented, during which the facility was adapted for use as a residential social care institution for elderly people. The building was reconstructed to accommodate a 40-bed social care facility for residents with established nursing care needs, with institutional operations supported by a staff of 28 employees.

Implemented Reconstruction Solutions

Major refurbishment and functional adaptation of interior premises
The existing interior premises underwent major refurbishment and were adapted to meet the functional requirements of a social care facility, ensuring residents’ comfort, appropriate working conditions for staff, and compliance with applicable regulatory standards.

Renovation of building façades and roof
During the reconstruction, the existing façade finishes were preserved, while the main entrance doors and windows of glazed balconies were replaced. In addition, refurbishment works were carried out on the flat roof above the third floor, improving the overall technical condition of the building.

Construction of a superstructure
A new superstructure was constructed above the second floor, replacing the existing flat roof. This intervention increased the usable floor area and expanded the functional capacity of the social care facility.

Construction of an evacuation staircase
An additional external lightweight evacuation staircase was constructed to ensure safe evacuation of residents and staff and to comply with fire safety requirements.

Throughout the design and implementation phases of the project, Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology was applied, enabling efficient management of the design process, effective coordination of technical solutions, and accurate implementation on site.
