Service description
In 2021, the Gustonia Social Care Home, part of the Panevėžys District Social Services Centre, underwent a significant renovation. The old, wooden part of the building was demolished, while the brick section was renovated and expanded with a new, modern extension. This project significantly improved the living conditions of the residents of the care home.
Key changes
- Capacity was doubled: Initially, the care home had 20 places, but after the renovation, the number increased to 22;
- Modern spaces: Cozy and spacious single and double rooms, relaxation areas, a modern kitchen, and dining room were created;
- Adapted environment: The entire environment is adapted to the needs of the elderly, including special assistive technology;
- Expanded services: A medical room, laundry room, utility rooms, and storage facilities were added;
- Modernized infrastructure: The engineering infrastructure was updated, and wastewater treatment and water purification systems were installed.
Project results
- Improved quality of life: Residents can enjoy more spacious, brighter, and more comfortable rooms;
- Increased comfort: Modern equipment and furniture ensure greater comfort and convenience;
- Expanded services: A wider range of services allows for better meeting the needs of residents;
- Appropriate living conditions: The care home meets modern quality standards and ensures a safe and comfortable environment.
This renovation is an excellent example of how investing in social infrastructure can significantly improve the quality of life for the elderly.
